Rep. Andy Harris, MD, a U.S. Congressman representing Maryland’s 1st district since 2011, posted a series of statements on July 28, 2025, addressing recent political developments and state issues.

In his first post at 14:23 UTC, Harris commented on national policy outcomes: "A great deal for the American People https://t.co/0ClGvwbNu4".

Later that day at 16:13 UTC, he referenced former President Donald Trump’s actions regarding international trade: "President Trump delivered a historic deal with the EU—putting American workers, farmers, and manufacturers FIRST. USA! USA! USA! https://t.co/ZXHKG9fUsJ".

By the evening at 18:47 UTC, Harris turned his attention to local matters in Maryland, criticizing other lawmakers’ approach to immigration enforcement: "These Maryland lawmakers didn’t lift a finger to stop illegal immigrants and MS-13 gangs from pouring into our state but now they’re staging “sit-in” stunts for cameras to keep illegals in Maryland. Spare us the show. We stand with ICE and their mission to keep Maryland safe. https://t.co/xWyFzJhHau".

Andy Harris has represented Maryland’s 1st District in Congress since defeating Frank Kratovil in 2011 and previously served in both the Maryland House of Representatives and Senate from 1999 through 2011. He was born in New York City in 1957 and currently resides in Cambridge. Harris earned his undergraduate degree from Johns Hopkins University in 1977.
