On July 8, 2025, Rep. Harris expressed approval over the cessation of taxpayer funding for what he refers to as the “Green New Scam.” He stated "This is great news! No more taxpayer funding of the 'Green New Scam.'"
Later that day, he provided resources for aiding the Texas Hill County by sharing "The latest information on helping the Texas Hill County "
On July 9, 2025, in an interview with FOX Baltimore, Rep. Harris criticized offshore wind energy projects. He remarked “People’s energy bills are sky high, and offshore wind is one of the most expensive ways to generate electricity. This is just a fool’s errand. It was started for totally political purposes. It’s a foolish waste of money.”
Andy Harris has been active in politics since serving in the Maryland House of Representatives and then in the Maryland Senate from 1999 to 2011 before taking office in Congress.
