Havre de Grace City Council issued the following announcement on Nov. 12.
Last November 12 At 10:00 A.M., in honor of Veterans Day, the city of Havre de Grace dedicated the flagpole at Veterans’ Park in memory of Noble Mentzer. Mr. Mentzer dedicated the entirety of his life to God, family, country and community. It is our honor to call him a hometown hero. We would like to thank everyone who attended the service, including County Executive Barry Glassman, County Council Member Curtis Beulah, and members of the Havre de Grace City Council.
At 11:00, the city joined the American Legion at Tydings Park and guest speaker Major General Vollmecke for a wreath laying ceremony.
