HARFORD COMPOSITE SQUADRON: C/TSgt.Henkel Promotion&C/SSgt.Bushall Citadel Academy Acceptance

Shakehand

Harford Composite Squadron issued the following announcement on Oct. 23.

To begin Monday night’s meeting, senior members went over establishing a Ground Team signup sheet for future SAREX's, and cadets were outside conducting Drill & Ceremonies. Other topics discussed were things to consider before and while flying in cold weather. Conducting pre-flight checks for frost and if frost/ice is detected, it was discussed various ways to remove the ice/frost.

As the evening progressed, cadets moved inside the building, and de-bloused to go over proper wear of their uniforms, and proper patch/insignia locations. During this moment of cadets being de-bloused, LTC Roberts took notice of Cadet Lee Travers’ custom made CAP shirt, and advised the cadets he wanted to do something similar for the squadron.

The highlight of the evening was just before final formation where we recognized a few of our cadets for going above and beyond. C/TSgt Anna Henkel received her promotion from SSgt. to TSgt., her dad and LTC Roberts pinned her new stripes on. C/CMSgt Caleb Eyler and C/SrA Angelo Patrick Juarez received Recruiting Ribbons for recruiting at least 2 new members. C/2dLt Mackenzie Snyder received the Community Service Ribbon, which is awarded to members who complete 60 hours of community service. The community service is done outside of Civil Air Patrol, and is verified by someone other than the member. Civil Air Patrol headquarters has now authorized the wear of a bronze device for every additional 60 hours of community service. C/2dLt Snyder has completed 120 hours of verified volunteer service, outside of CAP. Finally, C/SSgt Dominick Bushall received his letter of acceptance to the Citadel Academy in South Carolina, where he will lay the foundation of his military education in hopes of earning a commission to become a pilot for the armed forces. Congratulations to all cadets recognized for your achievements, keep up the outstanding performance!
