ABERDEEN POLICE DEPARTMENT: 3rd Annual P.A.C.K. Campaign

Aberdeen Police Department issued the following announcement on Aug. 18.

The Aberdeen Police Department has begun their 3RD Annual P.A.C.K. Campaign. We will be collecting back packs and school supplies for Aberdeen children who need them. Once enough items have been donated, children will be able to pick up a backpack full of school supplies at the Aberdeen Police Department. Donations can be made at any time in the police department lobby located at 60 N. Parke Street. Below is a list of this year’s supplies that are needed for local schools:

Pre-Kindergarten

1 back pack (large enough to hold a 3-ring binder)

4 glue sticks

4 pack of (4 oz each) Play-Doh brand play dough

1 box of large (not jumbo) crayons

1 Large box of Kleenex

1 box of quart size zip-lock bags

1 box of gallon size zip-lock bags

1 Flexible plastic three-ring binder. (1/2 inch works best but 1 inch will work)

Kindergarten

1 back pack

1 wide ruled composition book

6 glue sticks

Boys-1 box gallon size zip-lock bags, 1 box Kleenex

Girls-1 box sandwich size zip-lock bags, hand sanitizer

1 zipper pencil case for binder

2 containers Clorox wipes

1 2 Pocket Folder

1ST Grade

1 back pack baby wipes

1 pencil box (not pencil bag) 1 pair of student scissors

3 -12 packs of #2 pencils (no mechanical pencils, please)

2 boxes (24 pack) thin crayons

6 regular sized glue sticks

3 wide ruled marbled composition books (no spiral notebooks)

Boys-1 box sandwich size zip-lock bags

Girls-1 box gallon size zip-lock bags

2ND Grade

1 back pack 1 pencil pouch or case

8 small Elmer’s glue sticks 1 post-it note pads

1 spiral notebook wide-ruled 2 box of Kleenex

4 -12 packs of #2 pencils (no mechanical pencils, please) 2 large pink erasers

5 marble composition books wide-ruled 2 Expo dry erase markers

1 box of 24 Crayola crayons 1 1 Inch binder

1 box Ziploc sandwich bags 1 pair of student scissors

1 box Ziploc gallon bags 2 packs of baby wipes

3RD Grade

1 back pack

1 zipper pencil pouch (not pencil box)

2 -12 packs of #2 pencils (no mechanical pencils, please)

2 marble composition books

2 large glue sticks

2 large pink erasers

1 pair of student scissors

1 pack of colored pencils

1 box of Kleenex

1 2 pocket folder

1 box of crayons

4TH Grade

1 back pack 1 folder

1 zipper pencil pouch-NO PENCIL BOXES Please! 2 spiral notebooks

1 pack of colored crayons 2 large glue sticks

1 pair of student scissors NO PENS

4 marble composition books NO BINDERS

1 pack of wide ruled notebook paper

2 -12 packs of #2 pencils (NO mechanical pencils, please)

Girls: box of sandwich size zip lock bags

Boys: box of gallon size zip lock bags

* optional* Clorox wipes and/or tissues

5TH Grade

1 back pack Kleenex

1 pack of colored pencils Hand sanitizer

1 pencil pouch Highlighters

1 pair of student scissors Disinfectant wipes

2 packs of post-it note 1 pack of markers

3 -12 packs of #2 pencils 6 glue sticks

2 packs of wide ruled loose-leaf notebook paper Tape

6 pocket folders with metal fasteners

6 composition notebooks wide ruled

Girls – 1 box of sandwich size zip-lock bags

Boys – 1 box of gallon size zip-lock bags

6TH – 8TH Grade

1 3-inch ring binder (Trapper Keeper type binders are also acceptable)

2 BLUE ink pens

1 box of Pencils (mechanical are acceptable)

3 highlighters

2 packs of Dividers

2 packs of loose-leaf paper

2 packs of index cards

1 set of earbuds

1 pack of colored pencils

1 sturdy folder with pockets and pre-punched holes that will go into the binder

1 Composition book (Art)

***OPTIONAL Math Supplies for Middle School***

Calculators are provided for classroom use by the school. However, should you want to purchase a calculator for home use, these are the recommended models.

Grade 6/7 = Any 4 function calculator that will add, subtract, multiply, and divide

Grade 8 = TI 34

Any Algebra or Geometry = TI 83+
