Rep. Andy Harris, MD, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Maryland's 1st district, shared his views on various topics through a series of tweets on June 8, 2025.

In one tweet, Rep. Harris expressed his opinion on individuals who resist or obstruct Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations in California. He stated that "Those who actively resist or obstruct ICE operations in California are breaking the law." He further emphasized that "Lawbreakers should be arrested. Illegals should be deported."

Another tweet from Rep. Harris addressed what he perceived as bias from ABC News. He criticized a national news correspondent for making a personal attack and accused ABC of favoritism, stating that "This kind of personal attack from a national news correspondent is utterly unacceptable." He urged ABC to either practice fairness or admit their bias towards "liberal outrage."

Lastly, Rep. Harris commented on the actions of California state leaders regarding cooperation with federal law enforcement agents. He remarked that "When California state leaders refuse to cooperate with Federal Law Enforcement Agents, they’re not defending peace—they’re defending disorder." He praised ICE officers for their role in protecting the country and its borders.

Andy Harris has been serving in Congress since 2011 after replacing Frank Kratovil and previously served in the Maryland Senate from 1999 to 2011. Born in New York City in 1957, he resides in Cambridge and graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a Bachelor of Science degree.
