Rep. Andy Harris, MD, a U.S. Congressman representing Maryland’s 1st district since 2011, recently shared updates on social media reflecting his ongoing legislative activities and constituent services.

On May 12, Rep. Harris announced that his office had the privilege of presenting Air Force Veteran Joseph Boyd with the Air Force Commendation Medal. Boyd was awarded this honor 40 years ago while serving as a sergeant but never received it at the time. Rep. Harris's office intervened by contacting the Air Force to correct Boyd's record and ensure he received "the medal he deserved."

Later that day, Rep. Harris expressed support for President Trump's initiatives aimed at reducing prescription costs in America. He stated, "The era of American taxpayers subsidizing big pharma and foreign healthcare systems is over." He commended the president for taking decisive action on this issue.

On May 13, Rep. Harris reiterated the administration's firm stance against illegal immigration, particularly targeting gang members or criminals entering the country illegally. He affirmed that "This administration has zero tolerance for illegal immigrants," emphasizing President Trump's commitment to fulfilling campaign promises related to immigration enforcement.

Additional context reveals that Andy Harris was born in New York City in 1957 and currently resides in Cambridge. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Johns Hopkins University, earned in 1977.
