Harford County Health Department issued the following announcement on Nov. 11.
It’s that time of the year again… No-Shave November is back! You may be hearing your friends, colleagues, or loved ones talking about participating in this month-long event or even growing out your hair yourself. But do you know the true meaning behind this commitment to letting your hair grow out? No-Shave November is a month-long campaign to raise awareness and funding for cancer prevention, research and education. Participants forgo shaving and grooming in order to raise cancer awareness by embracing our hair, which many cancer patients lose, and letting it grow wild and free. Donate the money you typically spend on shaving and grooming to educate about cancer prevention, save lives, and aid those fighting the battle. Check out the Harford County Health Department’s Cancer Prevention Program for information on how you can access no-cost cancer prevention screenings and education!
