Anne Arundel County Board of Education issued the following announcement on Jan. 31.
The Board of Education of Anne Arundel County will receive an update on Anne Arundel County Public Schools’ ongoing efforts to recruit and retain a quality, diverse workforce at its next meeting, scheduled for Wednesday, February 5, 2020.
The report from the Division of Human Resources will examine numerous data points, including 2019-2020 recruitment season highlights, recruitment efforts and strategies, employee demographics and diversity, turnover, and teacher retention.
Also on Wednesday, the Board will discuss and vote on the renewal of the charter agreement with Chesapeake Science Point Public Charter School.
The meeting will be held in the Board Room at the Parham Building, 2644 Riva Road, Annapolis. The Board will meet in a public session at 8:30 a.m. for the sole purpose of voting to immediately go into closed session, during which time it will discuss confidential matters as permitted by the Maryland Open Meetings Act including, but not limited to, legal advice, personnel, and negotiations. Closed session is not open to the public. The public session of the meeting will resume at 10 a.m.
