HARFORD COMMUNITY COLLEGE: Harford Announces Spring '19 AD Honor Roll

Harford Community College issued the following announcement on July 15.

Harford Athletic Director Estevan Vasquez has announced that 74 student-athletes have earned a spot on the AD Honor Roll, with 15 Fighting Owls securing a 4.0 GPA for the spring semester.

To earn a spot on the Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.0 grade-point average while taking at least 12 credits.

Fighting Owls student-athletes earned a 2.65 overall GPA this spring. The current record for number of student-athletes making the AD Honor Roll was set in fall 2017 at 92, while a new GPA record of 2.84 was set in spring 2018.

Individual Accomplishments:

15 Fighting Owls maintained a perfect grade point average during the spring: John Brett (MTEN), Henrique Castilho (MSOC), Madison Clark (WXC), Jarod French (MSOC), Erica James (SB), Jordan Johnson (WSOC), Crystal Kline (WSOC), Adam Larsen (MTEN), Camila Lopez (MTEN), Mason Mullaney (MSOC), Andrew Stump (MLAX), Shaun Vines (MLAX), Alex Wroe (MLAX), Jake Wyandt (BASE), and Moriah Yousefi (MLAX).

Beth Bishop (WLAX), Braeden Fausnaught (BASE), Thomas Norwood (MTEN), Dahnye Redd (WBB), Chandler Schmidt (MLAX), Rachel Wilson (WLAX) and Shaun Vines (WLAX) all earn the distinction of being named an NJCAA or ITA All-American while also qualifying for the AD Honor Roll.

Eight student-athletes completed their Harford playing careers by appearing on the AD Honor Roll for a fourth consecutive time: Ryan Bertrand (MSOC), John Brett (MTEN), Henrique Castilho (MSOC), Madison Clark (WXC), Erica James (SB), Maria Rey (WSOC/WTEN), Sofia Samra (WTEN), and Carly Wassil (VB).

Gabrielle Pfaff (VB/SB), Maria Rey (WSOC/WTEN), and Maria Lopez (VB/WTEN) achieved honor roll status while competing in two sports for the Fighting Owls.

Team Comparison

Women's Cross Country led Harford's 13 Division I programs with a 3.64 team GPA. Men's Tennis finished second with a 3.55 GPA, followed by Women's Tennis (3.31) and Men's Soccer (3.09). Harford baseball and men's soccer tied for the most student-athletes to make the list at 11, with men's tennis (10) and women's soccer (9) trailing slightly behind.

Men's lacrosse ended the spring by besting all Harford teams with four student-athletes earning 4.0 GPAs, while men's soccer and tennis featured the most returners to the honor roll with 10 each.
