Rep. Andy Harris, MD, currently serving as the U.S. Congressman for Maryland’s 1st district since 2011, posted a series of statements on social media regarding recent legislative developments and law enforcement actions.

On February 12, 2026, Harris announced the passage of new legislation in the House: “The House PASSED the SAVE America Act.

Photo ID required to vote in federal elections
Proof of U.S. citizenship required to register
Non-citizens removed from voter rolls
American elections secured

A massive win for America.

The Senate must pass this NOW.”

Later that day, he urged constituents to take action: “Call your US Senator and tell them to debate the SAVE America Act (voter ID and only citizens can vote bill) NOW.” This message was posted on February 12, 2026.

In another post dated February 12, 2026, Harris commented on a law enforcement matter in Maryland: “An illegal alien convicted of rape in Baltimore County, Maryland was arrested by ICE and taken off our streets.

This is urgent enforcement that protects American communities.

Families are safer because ICE is doing its job.”
