Rep. Andy Harris, MD, a U.S. Congressman representing Maryland’s 1st district since 2011, posted a series of tweets on February 25, 2026, highlighting his support for former President Donald Trump and emphasizing the importance of voter ID laws.

In one post at 03:28 UTC, Harris wrote: “In ONE year — look at what our President has accomplished.”

A few minutes later, at 03:36 UTC, he stated: “Common sense is back. President Trump is standing with parents and pushing back against radical policies. Ban it now.”

At 03:43 UTC on the same day, Harris addressed election security measures by posting: “President Trump has made it clear: protecting AMERICAN elections matter.

Voter ID is a commonsense safeguard that helps protect every legal vote and strengthen confidence in the system.”

Harris has served in Congress since replacing Frank Kratovil in 2011 and previously held seats in both the Maryland House of Representatives and Maryland Senate from 1999 to 2011.
