Rep. Andy Harris, currently serving Maryland’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, recently used his social media platform to highlight meetings and events with local leaders and to express appreciation for public service within his constituency.
On January 8, 2026, Harris posted about a meeting with military officials: “It was my pleasure to meet with Major General Janeen Birckhead and the Maryland National Guard to discuss how Congress can be of assistance to prioritize the important work they do to protect Marylanders. I am grateful for their service.”
The following day, January 9, 2026, Harris addressed developments in nutrition policy: “Honored to join @SecKennedy and Administration leaders today to celebrate a major step forward in nutrition policy.

Harris has represented Maryland’s 1st District since 2011 after succeeding Frank Kratovil. Before joining Congress, he served in both the Maryland House of Representatives and the Maryland Senate from 1999 until his congressional election.
