Rep. Andy Harris, a U.S. Congressman representing Maryland’s 1st district, shared various updates through his Twitter account on April 23 and 24, 2025. Harris, who succeeded Frank Kratovil in 2011, highlighted local concerns and opportunities for his constituents.

On April 23, 2025, Congressman Harris inquired about the response from Maryland’s political leadership regarding a recent murder in the state. He asked, “Any word from Maryland’s political majority leadership on this devastating murder in Maryland?”

Later that same day, Harris turned to cultural affairs, reaching out to artists in his district. He emphasized the approaching deadline for the Congressional Art Competition by tweeting, “Calling All MD01 Artists The Congressional Art Competition Deadline Is Coming Up! Register by April 25th.” He provided a link for further information.

Harris has been a U.S. Congressman for Maryland’s 1st district since 2011, with prior experience serving in the Maryland Senate from 1999. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Johns Hopkins University, obtained in 1977.
