Rep. Andy Harris, who represents Maryland’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of tweets on August 25, 2025, addressing recent developments involving offshore wind projects and public safety in Washington, D.C.

In a tweet posted at 18:25 UTC, Harris stated, “I commend Attorney General Bondi and the Trump Administration for stepping in, listening to our concerns, and taking the necessary steps to withdraw this deeply flawed offshore wind project.”

Later at 19:12 UTC, he commented on crime rates in the nation’s capital: “Washington, D.C. just went 12 days without a single murder—for the first time in years—thanks to President Trump’s law-and-order leadership. Make DC Safe Again.”

Harris has represented Maryland’s 1st District since replacing Frank Kratovil in 2011. Prior to his tenure in Congress, he served in both the Maryland House of Representatives and the Maryland Senate from 1999 to 2011. Born in New York City in 1957 and currently residing in Cambridge, Harris earned his BS from Johns Hopkins University in 1977.
