Rep. Andy Harris, MD, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Maryland’s 1st district since 2011, posted a series of statements on September 30, 2025, regarding ongoing government funding negotiations and partisan disagreements in Washington.
In his first post at 12:29 UTC, Harris shared: “Democrats in their own words https://t.co/7zhIx5YmNd”.
Later that day at 14:39 UTC, he addressed the status of government funding efforts: “Republicans passed a clean continuing resolution to fund the government.
Democrats are holding the government hostage to push their radical agenda.
If the government shuts down, the Democrats will have no one to blame but themselves. https://t.co/zJkWrsELbI“.
At 17:08 UTC, Harris commented further on Senate leadership and responsibility for potential shutdowns: “‘If Chuck Schumer and his colleagues in the Senate choose to keep the government open it will stay open, if they choose to shut it down…it will shut down.’
