Rep. Andy Harris, who represents Maryland’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, recently used his social media platform to comment on legislative issues and promote a television appearance.

On October 3, 2025, Harris posted a tweet with a link: https://t.co/gduBUobNqk. Later that day, he informed followers of an upcoming interview by tweeting, ” Coming up on @NEWSMAX around 7:10PM. Tune in!” (October 3, 2025).

The following day, Harris commented on a Democratic spending bill. On October 4, 2025, he tweeted: “You can’t make up your own facts.
The Democrats spending bill would include healthcare for illegals — it’s written right into the bill.” @NEWSMAX https://t.co/mEWvm35FxJ

Harris has served in Congress since 2011 after replacing Frank Kratovil and previously held positions in the Maryland House of Representatives and Maryland Senate from 1999 to 2011. He was born in New York City in 1957 and currently resides in Cambridge. Harris earned his undergraduate degree from Johns Hopkins University in 1977.
