Rep. Andy Harris, a U.S. Congressman representing Maryland’s 1st district since 2011, posted a series of statements on his social media account addressing recent political developments and federal funding concerns.
On November 3, 2025, Harris wrote: “He should be impeached for that display, and Governor Moore, who nominated him, should support that impeachment.”
The following morning, on November 4, Harris informed followers of an upcoming radio appearance by stating: “Coming up on @WGMDRadio around 8:45AM. Tune in!”
Later that day, Harris addressed issues surrounding federal nutrition assistance funding with the post: “SNAP funding has lapsed—leaving those who depend on this lifeline at risk of going hungry. This outcome was entirely avoidable. Republicans voted to fully fund nutrition benefits and keep the entire federal government open.”
Harris has represented Maryland’s 1st congressional district since succeeding Frank Kratovil in 2011. Prior to his tenure in Congress, he served in the Maryland Senate from 1999 to 2011 after a period in the Maryland House of Representatives. Born in New York City in 1957 and currently residing in Cambridge, Harris earned his undergraduate degree from Johns Hopkins University in 1977.
