Rep. Andy Harris, currently serving as the U.S. Congressman for Maryland’s 1st district, used his social media account to address government funding issues and promote recent media appearances.

On November 6, 2025, Harris posted about his stance on a continuing resolution in Congress: “House Freedom Caucus Chairman Andy Harris, R-Md., elaborated on the group’s support for a longer-term continuing resolution in an interview this week with The Daily Signal.

https://t.co/AIGB6FyMRb“. Later that day, he called on state Democrats to take action: “It’s time for Maryland’s Democrats to reopen the government and stop this madness. https://t.co/qDRJAKY9fC”.

The following morning, on November 7, Harris informed followers of an upcoming television appearance: ” Coming up on @NEWSMAX this morning around 8:30. Tune in!”.

Harris has represented Maryland’s 1st congressional district since 2011 after replacing Frank Kratovil and previously served over a decade in the Maryland Senate. Born in New York City in 1957 and residing in Cambridge, he holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Johns Hopkins University.
