Rep. Andy Harris, MD, who is currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Maryland’s 1st district, expressed his views on multiple pressing issues through a series of tweets. Below are the prominent points made in his recent social media posts.

On March 26, 2025, Rep. Harris commented on research conducted by Ursula Siebert from the Institute for Terrestrial and Aquatic Research. She has been examining porpoises that have washed up in the Baltic Seas with damaged ears. Harris questioned, “Is the damage caused by wind farm construction noise? The truth is catching up…”

Later on the same day, he brought attention to a situation involving NPR. He stated, “Reminder: NPR recently suspended one of their top editors for writing, ‘An open-minded spirit no longer exists within NPR, and now, predictably, we don’t have an audience that reflects America.’ If an ‘open-minded spirit’ doesn’t exist at NPR, why should taxpayers fund it?”

On March 27, Rep. Harris addressed a program at the Anne Arundel County Public Library. The library is hosting a “Trans Pride Party,” which includes making “pronoun pins.” Critically assessing the target audience, he mentioned, “This is why we need to re-examine federal support for libraries. Taxpayers shouldn’t…” The event is aimed at audiences ranging from preschoolers to adults.
