U.S. Representative Andy Harris, who has served Maryland’s 1st District in Congress since 2011, shared several viewpoints on social media regarding national policies and social issues.

In a tweet dated April 2, 2025, Harris expressed support for President Trump’s tariffs, stating that such measures are designed to prioritize American workers and restore equity in global trade. He noted, “President Trump’s reciprocal tariffs will put the American worker first and bring fairness back to international trade. America is being respected again.”

On April 3, 2025, Harris addressed the topic of marijuana classification in another tweet. He stated, “The Drug Enforcement Administration and the Food and Drug Administration have held long-standing opinions that marijuana is a psychoactive drug that is both addictive and harmful.” This position is elaborated further in an article from the Daily Signal linked in his tweet.

In another post on the same day, Harris expressed his stance on sports competitions relating to gender identity. He tweeted, “Biological men should never be allowed to compete in women’s sports.”
