Rep. Andy Harris, who represents Maryland’s 1st congressional district, has recently shared a series of posts on social media highlighting his views on national media coverage and recent legislative developments.

On July 17, 2025, Harris criticized CNN for its reporting on the Freedom Caucus, stating: “Fake News @CNN is at it again with their biased reporting of the @freedomcaucus

As I told them when they tried to interview me for their hit piece: “You only wish we were actually ineffective. Interview is over.”

We’re winning. They’re whining. That tells you everything.”

The following day, Harris expressed support for President Biden and the White House Office of Management and Budget (WHOMB) regarding recent fiscal policy: “Grateful to @POTUS and @WHOMB
for leading the charge on the Rescissions Act — returning taxpayer dollars by cutting wasteful spending.

Every dollar clawed back is a win for taxpayers.

Promises Made. Waste Rescinded.” This post was published on July 18, 2025.

Later that same day, he highlighted several policy achievements in another post: ” The Wins Keep Coming

Border crossings at their lowest levels in history
NPR defunded
PBS defunded
Planned Parenthood defunded

The first six months were just the start.

The Golden Age of America is only beginning.”

Harris has served as a member of Congress since 2011 after replacing Frank Kratovil and previously held positions in both the Maryland House of Representatives and Senate from 1999 to 2011. Born in New York City in 1957, he currently resides in Cambridge and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Johns Hopkins University earned in 1977.
