Rep. Andy Harris, a U.S. Congressman representing Maryland’s 1st district since 2011, recently shared his views on social media regarding political and security matters. His comments reflect his alignment with former President Donald Trump and concerns about the Secret Service’s operations.

On December 4, 2024, Rep. Harris expressed his intention to follow the leadership of former President Trump in Congress. He stated, “We’re going to follow the lead of President Trump. His coattails brought us the House majority, and his coattails brought us a larger Senate majority than we would have otherwise had. So I think Congress is, to a large extent, going to take the lead of the president.”

The following day, on December 5, 2024, Rep. Harris addressed issues concerning the Secret Service after recent assassination attempts. He remarked that significant changes in leadership were necessary within the agency: “The bottom line is you have to fire all the top echelons of the secret service. You know It’s nice they had this paradigm shift after two assassination attempts but they should have had a paradigm shift years ago.” Further insights on this matter were shared on Newsmax.
