Rep. Andy Harris, MD, currently serving as the U.S. Congressman for Maryland’s 1st district, used his social media platform to address the ongoing government shutdown and related legislative actions this week.
On November 12, Harris commented on the duration of the shutdown, stating “This shutdown has lasted long enough. The house, which took action eight weeks ago, is going to take the final action [Wednesday] to end this shutdown.”
Later that evening, he addressed responsibility for the situation in another post: America has put up enough with the Democrat Shutdown. He also directed followers to further coverage by CBS News.
In a subsequent update on November 13, Harris provided more detail about legislative efforts underway: This government funding bill provides critical support to America’s farmers, ranchers, and rural communities. It also extends government funding to the end of January 2026, blocking attempts to force an omnibus at the last minute. My full remarks on the House Floor https://t.co/e3fY3gaWaF
